What Happens to Your Bounce House Rental When It Rains?

March 5, 20265 min readBy Wow Inflatables Team
Rainy day weather affecting outdoor party planning in Georgia

You've planned the perfect party. The bounce house is booked, the invitations are sent, and the kids are counting down the days. Then you check the weather forecast and see a 60% chance of rain. Now what?

This is one of the most common questions we get at Wow Inflatables — and we want to give you a completely transparent, honest answer so you can plan with confidence.

Our Weather Policy — Plain and Simple

GO
Light drizzle or overcast skies
We deliver as planned. Light rain is generally safe for bounce house use. The surface may be slightly slippery — remind kids to be careful.
DISCUSS
Heavy rain forecast (but no lightning)
We will contact you 24 hours in advance to discuss options: reschedule, or we can still deliver if you accept the conditions.
CANCEL
Lightning, thunderstorms, or high winds (25+ mph)
We cancel for safety. You receive a full refund or free rescheduling — your choice. No fees, no penalties.

How We Monitor Weather

We use multiple weather services to monitor conditions for every scheduled delivery. Here's our process:

  1. 48 hours out: We check the extended forecast for your event date and location.
  2. 24 hours out: If conditions look questionable, we proactively contact you to discuss options.
  3. Morning of event: Final weather check. If a storm is developing, we call you immediately.
  4. During the event: If conditions change rapidly, we will call you to advise on whether to take down the unit.

Tips to Protect Your Party from Weather

  • Book a covered venue as a backup
If you're renting for a large event, consider booking a pavilion or covered area as a rain contingency. Many Georgia parks have covered pavilions you can reserve for $25–50.
  • Choose a morning time slot
Georgia afternoon thunderstorms are most common between 2–6 PM. A morning party (10 AM–2 PM) significantly reduces your weather risk.
  • Have an indoor activity ready
Prepare a few indoor activities (board games, movies, crafts) as a backup in case conditions deteriorate. This keeps the party going even if the bounce house has to come down.
  • Don't cancel based on a forecast alone
Weather forecasts are often wrong, especially for localized afternoon storms. Wait for our call before making any decisions — we'll give you the most accurate picture.
