Bounce House
Rental Checklist
Everything you need to prepare before, during, and after your inflatable rental. Follow this checklist and your event will go off without a hitch.
Before You Book — Space & Size
Measure your setup area (length × width)
Most standard bounce houses need at least 15×15 ft. Water slides need 20×30 ft or more. We'll confirm exact dimensions when you book.
Check overhead clearance
Bounce houses are typically 12–15 ft tall. Make sure there are no low-hanging branches, power lines, or overhangs in the setup area.
Identify the surface type
Grass, concrete, and asphalt all work. Let us know the surface so we bring the right anchoring equipment (stakes for grass, sandbags for hard surfaces).
Locate the nearest electrical outlet
Our blowers need a standard 110V outlet within 100 feet. If no outlet is available, ask about our generator add-on.
Check for access restrictions
Note any gates, fences, stairs, or narrow passages between the street and the setup area. Let us know when booking so we can plan accordingly.
Choosing the Right Units
Count your expected guests
Estimate how many children will be using the inflatables at once. This helps us recommend the right size and number of units.
Note the age range of your guests
We have toddler-specific units for ages 1–5, standard units for ages 5–12, and larger units for mixed ages. Matching the unit to the age group is important for safety.
Decide on wet or dry
Water slides and wet combos are great for summer. Dry slides and bounce houses work year-round. Water slides require a water source nearby.
Consider add-ons
Concession machines (snow cone, popcorn, cotton candy) are popular add-ons that increase the fun factor. Ask about package pricing.
Check for themed options
We have princess castles, superhero themes, sports themes, and more. Ask about availability when booking.
Day-Before Checklist
Confirm delivery window with Wow Inflatables
We'll contact you the day before to confirm arrival time. Make sure your phone is accessible.
Clear the setup area
Remove furniture, toys, debris, and any obstacles from the setup area. The area should be completely clear when we arrive.
Mow the grass if needed
If setting up on grass, mow beforehand if the grass is long. This helps with anchoring and keeps the unit cleaner.
Check the weather forecast
We monitor weather too, but it's good to be aware. Have a backup plan in case of unexpected severe weather.
Arrange payment
The remaining balance is due on delivery day. Have your payment method ready.
Day-Of Checklist
Be present for delivery (adult 18+)
An adult must be present to sign for the equipment and receive the safety briefing from our delivery team.
Ensure clear access to the setup area
Make sure the path from the street to the setup area is clear and accessible for our team and equipment.
Have the electrical outlet accessible
Make sure the outlet is unlocked and accessible. If using an extension cord, use a heavy-duty outdoor cord.
Designate a supervisor
Assign a responsible adult to supervise the inflatable at all times during the event. This is required for safe operation.
Review safety rules with guests
Before the first child enters, review the safety rules: no shoes, no food/drinks inside, follow capacity limits, no flips or rough play.
Safety Rules to Post
No shoes inside the bounce house
Shoes can damage the inflatable material and cause injuries. Remove shoes before entering.
No food, drinks, or gum inside
Food and drinks create slip hazards and attract insects. Keep all food outside the inflatable.
Follow capacity limits
Do not exceed the posted capacity. Overcrowding is the #1 cause of bounce house injuries.
No flips, somersaults, or rough play
These activities cause the majority of bounce house injuries. Enforce a no-rough-play rule.
Adult supervision at all times
A responsible adult must be watching the inflatable at all times. Never leave children unsupervised.
Common Questions
FAQ — Rental Preparation
What do I need to have ready before the bounce house is delivered?
Before delivery, ensure the setup area is clear of debris and obstacles, there is a clear path from the street to the setup area, an electrical outlet is within 100 feet, and an adult (18+) is present to sign for the equipment and receive the safety briefing.
How much space do I need for a bounce house?
Most standard bounce houses need at least 15×15 feet of clear space. Water slides typically need 20×30 feet or more. We will confirm exact space requirements for your specific units when you book.
Do I need a water source for a water slide rental?
Yes. Water slides require a garden hose connection to keep the slide wet. The water source should be within reach of the setup area. We will confirm the water connection requirements when you book.
What if I don't have an electrical outlet near the setup area?
If no electrical outlet is within 100 feet of the setup area, ask about our generator add-on when booking. We can provide a generator to power the blower without needing a nearby outlet.
How many bounce houses do I need for my event?
For events with up to 20 children, one standard bounce house is usually sufficient. For 20–50 children, consider 2 units or a larger combo unit. For 50+ children, we recommend 3+ units or a mix of bounce houses and water slides. Call us to discuss your specific event.
